PROTOTYPE / There’s No Such Thing As A Bad Idea

What happens when successful companies… fail?

There’s no such thing as a bad idea, apparently. Fans, stans, enthusiasts, and critics tell the stories of some of the most successful companies of the modern era by highlighting their failures.

Prototype Episode: The U2 iPod: Apple hits a sour note

We’re click-wheeling back in 2004 and revisiting when U2 partnered with Apple to release their version of the iPod. The collaboration was supposed to be music to everyone’s ears but hit a sour note instead. You’ll hear from:

  • Hugh Garry (ex-U2 fan)
  • Meghan Roddy (U2 Stan)

… and Music and Tech Enthusiasts

  • Matt Locke
  • Darren Garrett
  • Roxana Mitchell

What did Apple learn and how did they bounce back and achieve world domination? At the end, our guests will passionately plead to either send the U2 iPod to the Cloud to live on for eternity or ban it to the recycle bin forever. Oh, and we also chat about the Songs Of Innocence album by U2, which Apple decided millions wanted on their devices.  There’s no such thing as a bad idea… apparently.
